Tulle Tales

for a long time now I have been greatly inspired by both fashion and various books (fairytales in particular), and last year came up with the idea of combining the two. I plan to reinvent classic fairytales, as well as ultimately writing my own stories from scratch. to do all of this, I will modernise the subject matter of each story by slightly changing and re-writing each narrative, creating corresponding illustrations and then designing and making the clothing collections based on the illustrations.

I have started this blog in order to document the creative process of each story/collection from start to finish. enjoy!

Outfit 2, part 1 - Cinderella’s gown - ‘Fame’ skirt

black cotton skirt with photo negative overlay. made to illustrate the part of the story in which Cinderella attends the ball for the first time and everybody is in awe of her and who she might be. modern interpretation - photo negatives (all from photographs of myself from various stages of my life) used to represent the essence of a virtually unknown persona being brought to the attention of the media/public.
